TOWSON ADDS WAKE FOREST TRANSFER ARNAUD WILLIAM ADALA MOTO
The 6-6, 225-pound forward averaged 6.9 points and 5.2 rebounds for the Demon Deacons last season
TOWSON, Md. – Towson head men’s basketball coach Pat Skerry announced the addition of Arnaud William Adala Moto (ar-NO William ah-DAH-luh MO-toe), a transfer student-athlete from Wake Forest. Adala Moto will sit out the 2014-15 season per NCAA transfer rules and will have two years of eligibility remaining starting in 2015-16.
A physically-gifted 6-foot-6, 225-pound forward, Adala Moto averaged 6.9 points and 5.2 rebounds while playing 19.7 minutes per game during his sophomore campaign in 2013-14. He played in all 33 games, starting 11 and ranked second on the team in rebounding and sixth in scoring. He shot 46.5 percent from the floor in 2013-14.
A four-star recruit according to ESPN and a top 150 recruit in the Class of 2012 according to Rivals, Adala Moto averaged 5.6 points and 3.9 rebounds while playing 16.3 minutes per game as a freshman. He saw action in all 31 games during his rookie campaign with 19 starts.
“We’re ecstatic to welcome Arnaud William Adala Moto to our program” said Skerry. “He’s a versatile forward that has played against extremely high levels of competition while being part of the Cameroon National Team and playing against ACC competition for two years. He can score from the inside and outside and will be an immediate impact player starting in 2015-16. I expect him to work extremely hard during his sit out year and be a big part of our program going forward.”
Originally from Yaoundé, Cameroon, Adala Moto went to Episcopal High School in Alexandria, Virginia before committing to Wake Forest. His brother, Parfait Bitee, was a shooting guard at the University of Rhode Island from 2004-08 and plays professionally overseas.
While playing a prominent role with the Demon Deacons, Adala Moto scored a career-high 16 points as a freshman in a 90-79 home victory over Virginia Tech. He tallied a season-high 15 points while contributing a career-high 11 rebounds this past season in a 70-69 win over N.C. State on January 15.
